Here it is… Tuesday and I’m finally getting around to posting about my weekend which was great!
I didn’t leave work as early as I wanted to on Friday (like 5pm is early… LOL), thanks to ABC which apparently didn’t sell all its commercial time for the Super Bowl (which probably explains the umpteen ABC promos during the game) and we had to scramble with last-minute commercials and billboards. Friday night was spent with B. Sorry folks, not going to kiss and tell… suffice to say that the evening can be summed up with one word… WOW!!!!

On Saturday, I got to spend quality time with Jason (times like that are now few and far between so I take advantage of every moment my kids want to spend with me). We went shopping together for our Super Bowl party. He’s so excited about Friday the 10th and the first concert Humble Offerings (his Christian worship band) will be doing outside of West New York Assembly. He’s got lots of friends going plus my dad and his godmother. Afterwards, the band and his friends will celebrate Jason’s 18th birthday with dinner at Outback Steakhouse and bowling. OMG… my baby’s turning 18.

Super Bowl Sunday was fun. I wound up with 15 kids in my living room, including Jason, all sprawled out on my couch, love seat, Clara’s futon which we brought out from her room and various chairs. Fortunately there were plenty of sandwiches, chips, dip and soda and the kids had a great time. They almost missed the beginning of the game because they were having so much fun playing Catch Phrase which is like Password… instead of pairing off and one person guessing the word, you form teams and while one person gives clues, the rest of the team shouts out answers. The commercials this year were pretty good and I pointed out the ones we scheduled for our clients. I don’t think the kids got one with the lamb streaking through the horses’ football field (not our commercial)… having lived during the days when streaking was common in sports and award shows, I thought it was hilarious. Clara finally came home shortly after halftime (she spends most weekends at her boyfriend’s Tommy’s home) and hung out with Jason’s friends who left when the game ended. I was happy that the mess was very minimal… leaving the garbage can in the living room was good idea… LOL.
