“Again” by Humble Offerings

This is a song written for Humble Offerings by my son, Jason.  It was premiered at the kick-off concert for the Fast for Food which the West New York Assembly Youth Group held for 30 hours from Friday afternoon to Saturday Evening.  They did it to raise money for famine relief.  I am so proud of Jason.  My only regret is that his father doesn’t care enough to know the wonderful young man our son is turning out to be.

Again

And if I never whispered

Those silly words of compromise

Would you have ever told me all those lies

And if I could just turn back time

I’d pause the moment that we kissed

A memory you’ve tried to behind

And I don’t mind

And to tell truth hurts so much more

Than anything I’ve felt before

I wish I’d never been put to this test

But my Lord He loves me so

I know He’d never let me go

And knowing that, I’ll always do my best

So…

When things get hard

I’ll remember my Lord

For all things were harder for Him

The only truth in this life

His love will always suffice

Now I think it’s time that I may begin… again

So if you care to spare me

All those tears you’ve stored up for me

I think it’s time that I be moving on

And I know I promised us a lot

But now they’re things that you’ve forgot

I used care but now I’m not sure
That you’re my cure

And to tell truth hurts so much more

Than anything I’ve felt before
I wish I’d never been put to this test

But my Lord He loves me so

I know He’d never let me go
And knowing that, I’ll always do my best

So…

When things get dark
I’ll use the light of my Lord

For all things are brighter in Him

The only truth in this life
He loves me with all His might
Now I think it’s time that I may begin… again

Again you gave the chance my Lord
To live a life without fear
You gave me perfection with all Your word
The grace that I’m still right here

The grace that I’m still right here

So…

When things get hard

I’ll remember my Lord

For all things were harder for Him

Te only truth in this life

His love will always suffice

Now I think it’s time that I may begin… again
